[07.05.10] Chad, Darfur and future of UN peace operations
NUPI's Department of Security and Conflict Management has the pleasure of inviting you to the Security in Practice seminar:
Chad, Darfur and future of UN peace operations
Since its establishment, the UN has had more than 60 different peace operations. These operations have, Since the end of the Cold War, been characterized by its increased complexity and resource demands that are rarely met by member states. After two decades of multidimensional UN peace operations, it is time to discuss lessons and the balance between various objectives such as achievable mandates, cost-efficiency and capacity-building. This seminar will draw lessons from the UN mission in Chad (MINURCAT), represented by the former Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) Victor Angelo.
