[08.06.11] Conflict kills developement

The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, in cooperation with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Bank, has the great pleasure of inviting you to a seminar:

Conflict kills development
Multilateral action for the 21st century

World Bank President Mr. Robert Zoellick has made the reform of multilateralism a central part of his tenure. With the publication of the WDR 2011, Conflict, Security, and Development, the World Bank challenges all actors – itself, the UN, and others – to forge a new approach to conflict prevention and post-conflict reconstruction.

What type of multilateral action is needed to implement the central ideas in WDR 2011, and what role should the World Bank play relative to the UN and regional actors?
