[25.10.11] Enhancing the Peacekeeping – Peacebuilding Nexus
The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), in partnership with the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO), the Norwegian Peacebuilding Resource Centre (Noref), and the African Centre for Constructive Resolution of Disputes (Accord), is arranging a Seminar on the Peacekeeping - Peacebuilding Nexus in Oslo from 25 to 26 October 2011.
The purpose of the seminar is to create an opportunity to reflect on the peacekeeping and peacebuilding nexus by facilitating a dialogue between a number of researchers, policy makers and practitioners. The seminar is intended to contribute to an improved shared international understanding of these concepts and how they are related to the international conflict management systems.
A specific outcome in this regard could be to inform the DPKO/DFS policy note on the peacekeeping-peacebuilding nexus, expected to be submitted to the next session of the Special Committee of Peacekeeping. The seminar is being organized under the auspices of the Training for Peace in Africa (TfP) programme, funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The seminar is by invitation only.
There will be a seminar dinner on 25 October. The seminar is scheduled to end at 2 p.m. on 26 October.
