International Relations as Inter-lingual Relations: Conceptual Entanglements between Political Traditions

The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) has the pleasure of inviting you to a theory seminar with Einar Wigen who will present the paper:

International Relations as Inter-lingual Relations: Conceptual Entanglements between Political Traditions

Einar Wigen is a PhD Candidate at Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages, University of Oslo. He works on his doctoral dissertation Turkey and the Concept of Europe  in connection with the inter disciplinary research project KULTRANS. The dissertation is a conceptual history of the Turkish concept of Europe, and deals with the development in Turkish political discourse in the Ottoman Empire and modern-day Turkey. Besides this, he is interested in Turkish-Persian state formation and inter-polity relations in the area stretching from Turkey to China.
