The lecture by Professor Gareth Evans is followed by a dialogue with NUPI's director Jan Egeland, and contributions from the audience.
Professor Gareth Evans was until recently President of the Brussels-based International Crisis Group. From 1988 untill 1996 he served as Foreign Minister of Australia. At present Professor Evans is Chancellor of the Australian National University (since January 2010) and a Professorial Fellow at The University of Melbourne (since July 2009).
Gareth Evans has written or edited nine books - including The Responsibility to Protect: Ending Mass Atrocity Crimes Once and for All .
