The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs [NUPI], in cooperation with the Embassy of Ireland, has the great pleasure of inviting you to a speech by The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.

 

Paths to Peace – Reflections on the Irish experience

 

President Mary McAleese will speak on the experience of peace-building in Northern Ireland and reflect on promoting mutual understanding and reconciliation in the wake of conflict.

On 11th November 1997, Mary McAleese was inaugurated as the eighth President of Ireland. President McAleese grew up in Northern Ireland and graduated in Law from the Queen's University of Belfast in 1973. President McAleese is an experienced broadcaster, having worked as a current affairs journalist and presenter in radio and television.
