The idea behind the workshop is to discuss and analyse various major characteristics of the police, an institution in which NUPI has had a long lasting research interest in and cooperated with. Both Norwegian experiences as well as the police's relationships to general development and conflict issues and internal problems with international police cooperation are touched upon.
