The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs [NUPI] has the great pleasure of inviting you to the workshop
Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in eastern Chad and Darfur
The United Nations Mission in Eastern Chad and the Central African Republic (MINURCAT) has been a support mission to protect civilians, contribute to rule of law and regional peace in conflict-prone region bordering Darfur and the Central African Republic. This workshop will draw lessons from MINURCAT and the UN mission in Darfur (UNAMID) to discuss the following issues:
- What it the situation on the ground concerning SGBV in eastern Chad and Darfur?
- What type of initiatives and policies are introduced by the UN, the government and NGOs and what are the outcomes?
- What are the future prospects for reducing SGBV in the region?
