Bobo Lo is an independent scholar and consultant. His previous positions include Director of the Russia and China Programmes at the Centre for European Reform (CER); Head of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House; and Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Moscow.

Dr Lo writes extensively on Russian foreign and security policy, with a particular focus on Sino-Russian relations. Among his books are Axis of Convenience: Moscow, Beijing and the New Geopolitics (Brookings and Chatham House, 2008), Vladimir Putin and the Evolution of Russian Foreign Policy (Blackwell and Chatham House, 2003), and Russian Foreign Policy in the Post Soviet Era: Reality, Illusion and Mythmaking (Palgrave Macmillan, 2002).

Bobo Lo is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on The Future of Russia. He has an MA from Oxford and a PhD from the University of Melbourne.
