Monika Thakur and Chris Alden will present the findings from their work on demilitarizing Congolese and Foreign Militias in Eastern DR Congo. The work on the DRC is part of a broader research project, “Reigning in the Dogs of War”: Demilitarization of Armed Groups and Militias in Africa, conducted for the Training for Peace Programme at NUPI. A paper on demilitarization of militia in South Sudan is already published.

 

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and discussions.

 

The paper will be provided upon registration.
