Nuclear Deterrence, Disarmament and Development Priorities

The first part of the project deals with the role of nuclear weapons, and of nuclear deterrence in particular. Is nuclear deterrence bound to stimulate nuclear proliferation, or this there a form of deterrence that may decouple the policies of nuclear weapon states from the nuclear considerations of others?
The second part is about lessons learned from rollback experiences. What role, if any, did economic/development considerations play in nuclear rollback?
The third part addresses the implications of world order changes for nuclear weapon policy, the rise of Asia in particular. How does it affect the political agenda and the feasibility of arms control and disarmament measures?
