India: Mobilizing Civilian Expertise for International Deployments
NUPI and the United Services Institution of India is working with the Government of India as it considers how best to mobilize civilian expertise for international deployments, by:
- taking stock of India’s past and current civilian capacity, and how that capacity has been used for international deployments to date,
- generating policy options for how best India’s civilian capacity can be used for international deployments in future,
- creating an opportunity for relevant stakeholders to consider policy options for mobilizing civilian capacity for international deployments,
- facilitating India’s participation in international and regional networks where civilian capacity is discussed, and
- supporting the implementation of decisions reached on India’s civilian capacity.
This project is supported by the Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi. The programme operates under a grant that run over 2 years from 2012-2013.
