New Issue of Forum for Development Studies
This issue of Forum for Development Studies addresses the justiciability of water rights, examines patterns of participation in civil society organisations and political activities in Nepal and brings two articles with focus on Guatemala.
In post-accord Guatemala the killing and crimes of the civil war have continued in time of peace. One of the articles in this issue aims to characterise and identify the cause of this violence. The other article elaborate on the identity among Guatemalan returnees. Repatriation is conceived as the natural and logical solution to refugee displacement, a restoration of order in the relationship between people, culture and place. The case of the Guatemalan returnees reveals that such notions have little to do with what return means to them.
