Belarus after the "Election"
The seminar takes place between 11.00-12.00.
Anatoli Mikhailov is the rector of the Belarusian exile university: European Humanities University (EHU) in Vilnius. EHU was founded in Minsk in 1992, but was closed by the authorities in 2004. With support from the EU and Council of Ministers, the university was again opened in Vilnius in 2005, and given status as a private Lithuanian university in 2006. Approximately 2,000 students are affiliated with the university. Some graduates have returned to Belarus to work for civil society and independent press, while others remain in Lithuania and other European countries.
