Transatlantic Free Trade
The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, NUPI, has the pleasure of inviting you to the seminar:
"Transatlantic Free Trade"
EU and the USA have recently initiated talks on a transatlantic free trade agreement: TTIP – Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. The second round of talks was recently cancelled due to Obama’s budget troubles and shutdown of the administration, but will be resumed as soon as possible. Several studies indicate that a successful TTIP will be a major event for the world economy. Especially if the TTIP succeeds in eliminating non-tariff barriers, there will be significant economic gains. Another issue is how Norway or EFTA should respond: How will we be affected by TTIP, and should we go for a similar agreement between Norway and the USA?
