The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs has the pleasure of inviting you to a theory seminar with Professor Laura Sjoberg, who will present the paper:

Calculating Critique? The Potential of Quantitative Methods for Critical and Constructivist IR

Laura Sjoberg
is Associate Professor of Political Science with a faculty affiliation in the Center for Women's Studies and Gender Research at the University of Florida. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from the University of Chicago, a Ph.D. From the University of Southern California School of International Relations, and a Juris Doctorate from Boston College. Dr. Sjoberg's primary area of work is in gender and international security, particularly in theorizing war from a feminist perspective and studying the representations of women's violence in global politics. Her work has been published in more than three dozen journals in political science and gender studies, and she is author or editor of eight books, including, most recently, Gendering Global Conflict: Toward a Feminist Theory of War
(Columbia University Press, 2013).
