Summary

Line Marie Breistrand is a doctoral student and works with China in international politics. In her doctoral project, she analyzes China's foreign policy using theories rooted in Chinese philosophy and strategic tradition. In her case studies, she explores methods that shed light on the relational dimensions of China's foreign policy. Geographically, her research focuses on the Nordic region and Central Asia.

She is also involved in the projects Chinese Anger Diplomacy (ANGER), and Chinese grand strategy and use of force: Western experiences and implications for Norway. She holds a MSc. in politics of China from SOAS, University of London (2020). Throughout her academic training she has focused on Chinese political discourse (1850-2020), political communication, foreign policy, propaganda work, and Chinas global digitalisation project: The Digital Silk Road.
