Christophe Hillion was a research professor at NUPI until October 2021. He is professor of European Law at the universities of Leiden & Gothenburg, and researcher at the Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies (SIEPS) in Stockholm and at the Centre for European Law at the University of Oslo.
He has published on EU external relations, enlargement and institutional law, and has advised several European governments (e.g. Swedish, UK and Ukrainian MFAs) and institutions (European Parliament, Commission, External Action Service, and Council of Europe) on those topics. He is a member of the editorial board of the Common Market Law Review, and of the governing board of the Centre for the Law of EU External Relations (CLEER) in the Hague.
