After a ten year engagement of EU-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2003-2013) EU-China relationship enters into a new era due to the change the Chinese leadership.

In this seminar, Dr. Xinning Song will give a presentation looking into the new leadership, new style, new preference and new policy of China and the future development of EU-China relations.

The backdrop for the analysis is the Euro-Crisis, economic slowdown, Brexit, and also the change of the European leadership.

Dr. Xinning Song, PhD in Political Science, Jean Monnet Chair ad personam at Renmin University of China in Beijing, and currently the China Director of Brussels Academy for China and European Studies (BACES, aBrussels-based think tank and an university network of Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Sichuan University, Vrije Universiteit Brussel and University of Ghent); China Director of Confucius Institute at VUB. He serves also as the Vice President of China Association of European Studies, Vice President of China Association of European Politics, Director of Institute of Comparative Regional Integration at Tsinhua University, Senior Research Associate of the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies in Brugge, Belgium.

The seminar is organized as part of our seminar series on China and the Nordics.
