Hege Medin earned her PhD in economics at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in 2013. Her main research field is international economics (trade and direct investments in particular), but she also has an interest in economic geography, labour, welfare, health and environmental economics.
Medin has conducted considerable research on company internationalization processes and the effects of various types of trade costs. She has undertaken analyses of Norway’s food trade, especially seafood export; and has worked on trade agreements, including the negotiations concerning a trade and investment partnership between the EU and the USA (TTIP). Her research frequently involves statistical analyses of register data.
