From Camps to Cities - The Urbanisation of Refugees
Professor Roger Zetter
Director of the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford

Professor Roger Zetter is the fourth Director of the Refugee Studies Centre, taking up his appointment in October 2006. He holds degrees from Cambridge, Nottingham and Sussex Universities. The main focus of his research, publications and teaching has been the institutional and policy dimensions of forced migration, the impact of humanitarian assistance on refugees and asylum seekers, shelter and settlement policies for refugees, the experience of protracted exile, repatriation and post-conflict reconstruction. In recent years his research, consultancy and publications have focused on two new themes. The first is in Europe and the UK where he has been exploring the causes and consequences of European deterrence and restrictionism, the asylum-migration nexus, the associational life of refugees and asylum seekers and refugee integration. The second theme is environmental impacts of climate change on population displacement and migration.
