The Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union

1 January 2011 represents the end of Belgium’s 12th Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Did Belgium attain the objectives it initially set for itself? Mr. Steven Vanackere will give an assessment of the Presidency under the new Lisbon Treaty.

The lecture by Foreign Minister Steven Vanackere is followed by a dialogue with NUPI's director Mr- Jan Egeland, and contributions from the audience.
