The seminar is being organized by a group of training centers and rosters, including the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD), the African Civilian Standby Roster for Humanitarian and Peace Building Missions (AFDEM), Canada’s Civilian Reserve (CANADEM), the Sergio Vieira de Mello School in Brazil (EPAZ), the Cairo Regional Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA), the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC), the United Service Institution of India - Centre for United Nations Peacekeeping (USI - CUNPK) and the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF).

The seminar will be a follow-up to a consultation held in June 2009 in Addis Ababa. It will seek comment from the training and rostering community on the report, especially the implementation of its recommendations. The seminar is also open to delegates from the Permanent Missions to the UN in New York, as well as United Nations staff. On 15 June there will be separate meetings between the training centers, the rosters and their respective United Nations counterparts.
