Hans Jørgen Gåsemyr
Senior Research FellowHans Jørgen Gåsemyr (PhD) is a senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) and a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Comparative Politics, University of Bergen.
Gåsemyr’s background includes extensive social science and Chinese language and area studies from Norwegian and Chinese universities. His PhD and MA degrees are in political science. Gåsemyr has previously worked for the United Nations in Beijing and he has experience from national broadcasting. His research focus is on Chinese politics, including social and economic reforms and state-society relations, and Chinese actors and interests in relation to other countries and international institutions.
