Ole Martin StormoenJunior Research Fellow
Ole Martin Stormoen is a junior research fellow in the Research Group for Security and Defense, and is also a coordinator for the The Consortium for Research on Terrorism and International Crime. He is currently studying Arabic at the University of Oslo, where he also completed his master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. His thesis examined the literature on the causes of Jihadi terrorism.
Stormoen has previously worked for the Norwegian Army in Kosovo (KFOR) and as a research assistant at the Norwegian Military Academy.
His research interests include the causes of conflict, terrorism and extremism, with a focus on Jihadism and Islamism, as well as topics that affect these. This includes foreign, security, and defense policy, international military operations, counter-terrorism, extremist ideology and radicalization, with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa, and the Balkans.
