GOODGOV, or what Poland and Norway can do to improve European governance?
The seminar will present the main findings of the GoodGov Project - National and European Governance: Polish and Norwegian Cooperation Towards More Efficient Security, Energy and Migration Policies.
The project was funded by the Polish-Norwegian Research Programme/EEA Norway Grants and was conducted between 2013 and 2016 jointly by the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), Norwegian Institute of International affairs (NUPI) and the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences (ISP PAN). The goal of the project was to map governance-related challenges at the national and European levels and to improve the efficiency of governance through the application of an innovative, multi-disciplinary approach. The project focused on three crucial areas of national and European policy – security, energy, and migration.
The project was divided into five interconnected thematic Work Packages, each one engaging both Polish and Norwegian researchers. Work Package I provided a basis for further research by identifying the opportunities and challenges connected with the correlation between national and European governance. Work Package II focused on security governance, Work Package III on energy, and Work Package IV on migration. The main findings of the project were presented at a conference in Brussels on 24 May 2016, and the event in Oslo is meant to present the results of the project to a broader Norwegian audience.
