Serbia, the Western Balkans and the EU: has progress stalled?
What are the reasons for the failing EU drive in Serbia and the Western Balkans? Is the war-prone rhetoric by the political elites backed up by public opinion? What are the prospects for democracy and stability after the presidential elections 2. April 2017?
These are the questions Sonja Stojanovic Gajic is coming to NUPI to discuss on 22 March. Gajic is the Director of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP), and she will present her assessment of the political and security situation in Serbia and the Western Balkans, supported with recent findings from surveys. This seminar is a part of the 'Norway meets Europe' seminar series at NUPI.
Sonja Stojanovic Gajic holds a MA in Politics, Security and Integration with distinction from the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies, University College London.
There will be a presentation followed by Q&A.
