Anne Kari Bråtveit Johansen
Anne Kari Johansen is Head of Administration at NUPI. She has previously served as Science and Higher Education Counsellor for the Ministry of Education and Research at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing and has worked as senior advisor at the International Program Department at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, University of Oslo. She holds a master’s degree in Anthropology of Chinese Societies from Chinese University of Hong Kong and Chinese Language Major from University of Oslo.
Johansen coordinates NUPI's administration to support and facilitate NUPI’s researchers in their work with the aim to produce important research-based knowledge and solutions to solving current social challenges. Johansen has long experience in facilitating international research and higher education cooperation. As Special Advisor for Research and Higher Education in Beijing, she was responsible for following up the Government's Panorama Strategy for Higher Education and Research Cooperation and facilitating bilateral cooperation with the Chinese authorities, as well as institutional academic cooperation. At NCHR, she worked as a senior advisor and project manager for several projects on competence building in international human rights for academia, the judiciary and civil society in China covering a wide range of areas in the field of human rights.
