The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) has the great pleasure of inviting to a lecture with:

Guma El-Gamaty
The
National Transitional Council of Libya

The lecture takes place between 10.00 - 11.00.

Guma El-Gamaty has been an active political opponent of the Gadhafi regime for over 30 years and has been appearing regularly on international media as an analysit and commentator on Libya for the last seven years. He is currently the UK co-ordinator for the Transitional National Council.

Guma El-Gamaty comes from the Libyan city of Gharian about 80 km south of the capital Tripoli and lived in Tripoli before coming to UK in 1975 for university studies. He studied to MSc level in biochemistry and also has an MBA. He recently completed a PhD in political science on the topic of "Libyan brain drain and its potential impact on democratisation and human development in Libya".
