In the Wake of the Arab Spring. Conflict and Cooperation in the Middle East
On the occasion of the new book of Sverre Lodgaard (ed), In the Wake of the Arab Spring. Conflict and Cooperation in the Middle East,
the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs and Scandinavian Academic Press (Spartacus) have the pleasure of inviting you to a book launch seminar at Hotel Continental, Thursday 19 September.
The book is the result of three Expert group meetings – two in Oslo and one in Ras al Khaima, United Arab Emirates. In focus are relations between the four largest countries in the region – Egypt, Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia – with national contributions from all of them and with comments from big power experts on the Middle East. Separate chapters are devoted to the oil dimension, the civil war in Syria and the conflict over Iran’s nuclear program. The book concludes with a systemic analysis of inter-state relations in the Middle East.
The contributors are: Contributors: Kayhan Barzegar, Saideh Lotfian (Iran), Nabil Fahmy, Anissa E. Hassouna (Egypt), Jamal Khashoggi, Jean-Francois Seznec (USA), Mustafa Kibaroglu (Turkey), Wu Bingbing (China), Muhammad Alsahlawi (Saudi Arabia), Øystein Noreng, Frida A.
