H.E. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan will adress the issue of economic and social development in Viet Nam over the last three decades. What has been achieved and what are the prospects for future development? What is the role of political and social organizations in Viet Nam's development? And how does Viet Nam position itself regionally as part of the country's development?

The Vietnam Fatherland Font is an important part of the political system in Viet Nam. The  Vietnam Fatherland Front has representatives from the Vietnamese people, political and social organizations, and prominent individuals from all walks of life, ethnic groups, religions, either living in Viet Nam or residing abroad. The organization plays an important role in supervising the activities of the Government and governmental bodies. In general elections, an endorsement by the Vietnam Fatherland Front is generally required to be a candidate.

As Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, politburo member H.E. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, is among highest ranking leaders in the Vietnamese political system. H.E. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan has been Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and one of 19 Politburo members of the Vietnamese Communist Party since 2013. He is formerly Deputy Prime Minister of Viet Nam (2007 – 2013) and Minister of Education and Training (2006-2010). Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan is a Professor of economics and holding Doctorate Degree in cybernetics, and has previously served as Dean and Vice Rector of the Ho Chi Minh City Polytechnic University (1995-1997).
