Poland and Norway have been working together on addressing various hard security challenges since Poland joined NATO in 1999. Also, their participation in various formats in the EU cooperation – Poland as a full-fledged member and Norway as an EEA member – have helped them to deal with other, non-military, but increasingly more important societal, economic, and political aspects of broadly understood security.

Norway and Poland border Russia which is involved in an aggressive and bloody war in Ukraine, forcing both to reconsider their relations with their Eastern neighbour and invest more in their security.  Being NATO members, they also face and deal with various types of challenges emerging in the transatlantic partnership.

Norway has become one of the most important suppliers of energy to Poland, while Poland has helped Norway to fill important gaps on the labour market as more then 100 000 Polish citizens have decided to move to Norway, building an important human connection between the two countries.

This event will be focusing on these important topics, with participants from both Poland and Norway. It is held at NUPI and will also be streamed live to our YouTube channel. No registration needed for digital participation.

The seminar is part of the NORPOLFACTOR2 project funded by the Polish-Norwegian Bilateral Fund/ EEA Grants in which NUPI works closely together with the leading Polish think tank the Casimir Pulaski Foundation in Warsaw.
