Acknowledging that, The Fritt Ord Foundation has awarded her their highest distinction.

For years, Wilhelmsen has contributed to academia and the broader public with critical analyses of Russian mindset, ideology, and foreign policy.

"In this field of research, she has participated with extensive analyses and has been a voice of independence and integrity. She has been fearless, factual, and steadfast in a heated debate climate, but has also shown the ability for self-reflection and self-criticism in the aftermath of Russia's war of aggression," says Grete Brochmann, Chair of the Fritt Ord Foundation's Board of Trustees.

Wilhelmsen will receive the award at a ceremony in Oslo on May 11, 2023.

She also recently received Klassekampen's neshornpris (Rhinoceros Prize) for her knowledgeable and brave contribution to the Norwegian public. In 2020, Wilhelmsen was awarded the Skjervheim Prize for the same reasons.

Congratulations on another well-deserved award, Julie!
