HE Dr. Heinz Fischer, President of the Federal Republic of Austria.

Dr. Heinz Fischer has served as President of the Federal Republic of Austria since 2004. From 1971, Dr. Fischer represented the Vienna constituency in the National Assembly of Austria and served as President of the National Assembly between 1990 and 2002. He was Federal Minister of Science and Research from 1983 to 1987. The President has been Vice-Chairman of the Party of European Socialists.
