Meeting about the evolving conflict and security environment in Africa

The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) and the Training for Peace (TfP) Programme were pleased to welcome the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS), H.E Ambassador Bankole Adeoye on 23rd June, for an open discussion on the evolving conflict and security environment in Africa.

As part of an official visit to Norway, Commissioner Bankole visited the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) to engage in a wide-ranging conversation on questions pertaining to different peace and security issues facing the African continent. During the event, Commisioner Bankole and participants were able to share individual reflections and expertise on pressing topics such as recent political developments, climate change, transnational conflict and terrorism and Africa´s relationship with external partners. Finally, Commisioner Bankole discussed regional structures and revisiting national dialogues and the relevance of inclusive dialogue in conflict prevention and resolution.
