In cooperation with the Barents Institute and Kirkenes Videregående Skole (Kirkenes High School), the ArcPres project team convened its first youth dialogue 3 November. Dr. Natalia Moen (NUPI) and Dr. Kari Myklebost (UiT) provided insights on political change in the region and facilitated a dialogue with 40 eager and insightful students. Students interviewed by their local paper said they found it interesting – and worrying – to discuss key changes in the Barents region. They also enjoyed the dialogue format – and a chance to talk about politics outside the usual school setting. Many thanks to Bjarge Schwenke Fors and Anne Figenschou at the Barents Institute and Roger Iversen at Kirkenes Videregående for supporting this dialogue!
